What's New with Intel Core Ultra? 

Technical Specifications 

Intel has unveiled the technical specifications of Core Ultra processors, detailing core counts and clock speeds.  

Released on December 14, the Core Ultra-H series comprises four chips. The flagship processor, Core Ultra 7 165H, boasts 16 cores (6 P cores, 8 E cores, and 2 LP E cores) and 22 threads, with a maximum Turbo P core clock speed of 5.0 GHz. It features an Intel Arc GPU with 8 Xe cores. Following closely is the Core Ultra 7 155H, with similar core counts but slightly lower clock speeds (4.8 GHz). 

Next in line is the Core Ultra 5 135H, featuring 14 cores (4 P cores, 8 E cores, and 2 LP E cores) and 18 threads. This CPU has a smaller cache (18 MB), fewer GPU cores (7), and a reduced maximum clock speed, reaching up to 4.6 GHz for P cores. Additionally, there's the Core Ultra 125H, with a further reduction in maximum clock speed to 4.5 GHz. 

The Core Ultra-U series is designed for enhanced battery life and mobility, hence featuring fewer cores. All chips share identical core counts and allocations, with 12 cores (2 P cores, 8 E cores, and 2 LP E cores) and 14 threads. Their GPUs also have fewer cores compared to the H series, with 4 Xe cores. The Core Ultra 7 165U achieves a maximum speed of 4.9 GHz, followed by 4.8 GHz for the Ultra 7 155U, while the Core Ultra 5 135U and 125U reach speeds of 4.4 GHz and 4.3 GHz, respectively. 

High-end CPUs, including the Core Ultra 9 185H, featuring 16 cores, 22 threads, 24 MB cache, and a maximum clock speed of 5.1 GHz. This CPU may find its place in future thin and light laptops boasting exceptional performance. 

Lastly, the Core Ultra 7 164U and Core Ultra 5 134U both feature 12 cores, 14 threads, and 4 Xe GPU cores. The 164U achieves a maximum clock speed of 4.8 GHz, while the 134U is slightly lower at 4.4 GHz. 

Furthermore, all new Intel Core Ultra CPUs exhibit cautious power consumption profiles, leading to improved battery life at the expense of some performance. Most chips have power ratings ranging from 9 to 28W (base) and 30 to 115W (turbo). However, the Core Ultra 9 starts at 45W and can go up to 115W.
